Special Education Parent Liaison
The Special Education Parent Liaison supports families through the IEP process by providing guidance in a safe, confidential, and neutral environment; addressing any questions or concerns surrounding the implementation and understanding of IEP related services.
By maintaining neutrality, the Special Education Parent Liaison can assist families in strengthening collaboration with staff, consult support services, and access navigation of community resources to positively impact academic success. The Special Education Parent Liaison services are free of charge and accessible throughout the school year.
Providing further assistance in:
Understanding the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process and eligibility.
Procedural Safeguards (Parent Rights)
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
Encourage parental involvement and advocacy for their child’s needs.
Resource & referral to outside agencies for additional support services.
Assist in the complaint and resolution process.
