CTE IN FSUSD: PATHWAYS TO ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES!
The Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District is thrilled to offer 16 exceptional Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways across four secondary schools: Armijo High School, Fairfield High School, Public Safety Academy, and Rodriguez High School. These pathways encompass a diverse range of 11 industry sectors that align perfectly with the local workforce opportunities.
These pathways have been designed to empower junior and senior students of FSUSD with a seamless and comprehensive sequence of courses, equipping them with life skills tailored to meet the demands of our ever-evolving society. Notably, these courses offer a direct pathway to lucrative employment prospects, including the local trade unions. Alternatively, they can serve as a solid foundation for students seeking to pursue certificate and degree programs at local colleges.
Regardless of the students' post-high school aspirations, these CTE courses provide invaluable hands-on experience within a simulated work environment, ensuring they are well-prepared for the professional world.
What is CTE?
Career Technical Education provides students with the academic and technical skills, knowledge, and training necessary to succeed in future career and to become lifelong learners. In total, about 12.5 million high school and college students are enrolled in CTE across the nation. CTE prepares these learners for the world of work by introducing them to workplace competencies, and makes academic content accessible to students by providing it in a hands-on context.
