Financial Aid Workshops
Need Cash for College? FSUSD is hosting various workshops for seniors to gain the knowledge and tools to secure financial aid for their higher education journey.
Whether aiming for a community college or a 4-year university, these opportunities are open to all seniors, regardless of school affiliation - an experienced College & Career Technician will be available to help students complete their 2025-26 FAFSA or CADAA applications.
** Assembly Bill 469, passed in 2021, requires high schools in California to verify that their seniors have completed a financial aid application. For more information on this bill from CA.gov, read the: Assembly Bill No. 469
Students are encouraged to bring the following documents to the workshops:
Your parents and your FSA ID (For FAFSA filers ONLY) or Dream Act Account (For CADAA filers)
2023 tax information (1040's and W2's)
Social Security card, if you have one
Driver’s license, if you have one
Alien registration number, if you have one
Individual Taxpayer Identification
Number (ITIN), if you have one
List of colleges you are interested in attending
Most current bank statements
Any records of untaxed income
Students are encouraged to take the following steps:
Create a Studentaid.gov account (FSA ID): Before attending a Financial Aid Night or Cash for College event, be sure to create your FSA ID.

Special Note for Parents Without Social Security Numbers: If a parent does not have a Social Security Number, please refer to this additional information on creating an FSA ID.
Important Deadlines:
The FAFSA and CADAA applications will open on December 1st.
The priority deadline is March 3rd for four-year universities.
For community colleges, the deadline is September 2nd.

California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) announced the extension of our state priority deadline to April 2, 2025. Students can complete their free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) by April 2 for consideration for Cal Grant and the Middle Class Scholarship.
Free Cash for College Webinars
CSAC has four free webinars left before the extended deadline of April 2, 2025. Please tell your students, parents, and constituents about these free opportunities to complete their FAFSA or California Dream Act Application.

Cash for College webinars are staffed by financial aid experts who can answer questions for students and their families about how to complete FAFSA or the California Dream Act Application. The presentation will walk through both applications and cover other aspects of financial aid.
The Time is Now
Although the deadline may be extended, we do not want our students to wait to apply for financial aid. Applying for financial aid gives students access to critical information necessary to help them make decisions about where to attend college and the financial aid package they will receive
