HOW TO FILE A TITLE IX COMPLAINT (AR 5145.71)
Any student or employee who feels they have been subjected to unlawful discrimination is strongly encouraged to immediately contact the Title IX coordinator, principal, or any other staff member. In addition, any student who observes any such incident is strongly encouraged to report the incident to the Title IX coordinator or principal whether or not the alleged victim files a complaint. All FSUSD employees must report any incidents that may be sex discrimination or sex-based harassment to their immediate supervisor and the Title IX coordinator.
When any report of unlawful discrimination, including discriminatory harassment, intimidation, retaliation, or bullying, is submitted to or received by the principal or compliance officer, he/she shall inform the student or parent/guardian of the right to file a formal complaint pursuant to the provisions in AR 1312.3 - Uniform Complaint Procedures.
HOW A TITLE IX COMPLAINT WILL BE INVESTIGATED
Within 10 business days of receiving a complaint, the compliance officer will review it and determine if it will be accepted for investigation. Unless an extension is agreed upon in writing with the complainant, the compliance officer will prepare and send a written report within 60 calendar days of the district's receipt of the complaint.
