FAIRFIELD, CALIFORNIA - On February 15th, 2023, Suisun Valley Elementary School’s Kindergarten classes held their annual Love Concert at Village 360. The cheerful event welcomed family members and Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD) staff to enjoy a heartwarming performance.
Christina Parkinson, a Kindergarten teacher at Suisun Valley Elementary School, has been coordinating the Kinder Love Concert for 20 years. This year, fellow Kindergarten teacher, Chloe Tagawa, and volunteer Cayla Pink assisted with preparing the students for their performance. The concert started as a way to show love and gratitude and has taken many different forms over the years. This year's concert was especially unique as it included a virtual performance on February 14th, followed by a live performance on February 15th. This year's virtual component allowed more individuals to enjoy the performance, regardless of location.
“Every year, we look forward to the Kinder Love Concert,” said Christina Parkinson. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the creativity and talent of our youngest students, and to spread love and kindness to our families and staff.”
The concert was a heartwarming celebration of the students’ talents. Along with singing, the students learned sign language to go along with the performance. The event showcased the power of music to bring people together and spread joy.
