On July 24, 2023, the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD) Governing Board received notice that David C. Isom, Trustee for Area 7, was resigning from his position effective July 31, 2023. Notice was published inviting community members in Trustee Area 7 to submit an application to fill this vacancy. Applications were accepted from August 7-25, 2023. On September 6, 2023, the FSUSD Governing Board held a Special Meeting and appointed Perry W. Polk to fill the vacancy in Trustee Area 7. Pursuant to Education Code 5091, unless a petition calling for a special election, containing a sufficient number of signatures, is filed in the office of county superintendent of schools within 30 days of the date of the provisional appointment, it shall become an effective appointment.
