Fairfield, CA - The Mary Bird Early Childhood Education Center hosted its first annual Spring Fling Carnival on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, offering a day of free fun and entertainment for the entire school community. Despite the rain, over 150 families joined the festivities, which took place on the Mary Bird campus.
The Spring Fling Carnival was designed to bring together current preschool students, their families, and Mary Bird staff members for a day of games, prizes, and carnival snacks. The event featured a wide array of activities, including face painting, a photo booth, a duck pond, an egg race, a balloon pop, a treasure hunt, temporary tattoos, and a visit from a Fairfield fire truck and service dog.
Carnival snacks such as snow cones and popcorn added to the festive atmosphere, providing sweet treats for families as they enjoyed the activities. The event aimed to create a sense of community and partnership between Mary Bird staff and families while providing children with engaging and developmentally appropriate experiences.
Anna Mansker, Principal of Mary Bird Early Childhood Education Center, expressed her delight at the success of the event, saying, "We are extremely proud of this first annual Spring Fling Carnival at Mary Bird ECEC. Despite the rain, over 150 families came to participate in this free event. The wide variety of developmentally appropriate activities were fun and engaging, providing a wealth of meaningful experiences to last a lifetime."
The Spring Fling Carnival was part of Mary Bird's ongoing efforts to expand and develop its preschool programs to meet the needs of young learners and their families. By creating a space for children and their families to come together with Mary Bird staff, the event fostered a sense of unity and partnership within the community.
