Fairfield, CA - On Thursday, May 16, 2024, dignitaries from the City of Fairfield visited Fairfield High School to witness the Fairfield Falcon Grill in action. The event featured a tour of the new culinary program facility, followed by a sit-down meal prepared and served by the talented students of Fairfield High School.

The distinguished guests included Fairfield Police Department Sergeant Franco Cesar; Fairfield Police Support Manager Jeremy Profitt; Fairfield Councilmembers Doriss Panduro, Scott Tonnesen, and K. Patrice Williams; Fairfield Assistant City Manager Savita Chaudhary; Fairfield Finance Director John Furtado; Fairfield Communications Manager Bill Way; Fairfield Communications Supervisor Whitney Skillman; and Brian Barsione, Food and Beverage Director of Touchstone Golf Course/Paradise Valley & Rancho Solano Golf Courses.

This visit provided a unique opportunity for the dignitaries to see firsthand the impressive work being done in the Food Service and Hospitality Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathway at Fairfield High. The students demonstrated their culinary skills and hospitality by preparing and serving a delicious meal, showcasing the practical applications of their classroom learning.

Chef Tom Dickinson, the CTE Culinary teacher, remarked on the students' preparation for the event: "As the students were preparing for their visit from our wonderful dignitaries, they were very nervous because they knew how important this lunch is. I politely told them, 'Let them see what I see every day. Let's do what we do, and let's do it together.'"

"The luncheon was a wonderful way to highlight the new culinary facilities and the exceptional talent of our students," said Principal Rebecca Campion. "We are incredibly proud of the Fairfield Falcon Grill and the opportunities it provides for our students to develop valuable career skills."

The event not only celebrated the achievements of the students but also strengthened the connection between Fairfield High School and the broader community, highlighting the importance of career technical education in preparing students for future success.
