Fairfield, CA -The Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD), in collaboration with the Fairfield Police and Fire Associations, including support from the Homeless Outreach Partnership and Engagement Project (HOPE) proudly hosted its Annual Back to School Resource Fair on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Fairfield. The success of this annual event is due to our community partnerships and generous grant donations from Kaiser Permanente, Travis Credit Union, NorthBay Health, Genetech, Fairfield-Suisun Unified’s Management Association and multiple private donors. This event continues to be a beacon of community spirit, uniting families, students, and local organizations in preparation for the new school year.
For over 20 years, this cherished event has exemplified FSUSD's commitment to fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for its students and families. This year, the fair featured over 50 exhibitors, providing vital resources and services to attendees. Volunteers distributed 1,492 backpacks stuffed with school supplies, ensuring students are ready to hit the ground running when the school year begins. The event also offered 152 vision screenings, free haircuts to 32 students, and more than 1,300 hot dogs, chips, and waters were served.
