On Friday, September 20, 2024, Armijo High School's Kindness, Happiness & Positivity (K.H.P.) Club, in partnership with School Counselor Victoria Escobar, hosted a meaningful Post-It Note activity during lunch periods to support Suicide Prevention Month. Students from all grades gathered to create positive messages of hope, encouragement, and support for their peers who may be struggling with mental health challenges.
The K.H.P. Club provided students with 988 hotline stickers, cards, and informative sheets outlining important warning signs, equipping students with resources and awareness tools. In a unified display of support, students and staff wore purple and teal, the colors associated with suicide prevention.
“It was amazing to see our students and staff come together as a school community to create such a positive message of hope,” shared one of the organizers. “Many students were excited to participate and eager to contribute to this important initiative.”
The activity served as a powerful reminder of the importance of kindness and community, reinforcing a message of compassion and support throughout the school.
