Virtual Academy Family Night

Suisun City, CA  – Virtual Academy of Fairfield-Suisun hosted an exciting Family Game Night at Joseph Nelson Community Center on Feb. 25 in collaboration with Miracle Math Coaching. The event brought together students and their families for an evening of interactive math games, critical thinking challenges, and engaging activities designed to make learning fun.

Although Virtual Academy operates in a virtual learning environment, the school continues to provide in-person events that foster student engagement and build community. Family Game Night was one of many opportunities for families to connect while exploring the wonders of learning in a fun and interactive setting.

Families in attendance participated in a variety of hands-on stations. Activities included artificial intelligence, patterning, engineering, and cognitive thinking. They had the opportunity to engage in stimulating challenges while enjoying an evening of collaboration and discovery.

To make the event even more engaging, Virtual Academy incorporated an attendance challenge. Each grade level was assigned a specific color to wear, and the class with the highest participation and best display of school spirit was eligible to win a classroom celebration.

“The energy and enthusiasm from both students and parents were incredible,” said Colleen Hutchinson, principal of Virtual Academy of Fairfield-Suisun.“It was wonderful to see families working together, problem-solving, and having fun while learning. Events like these remind us how important hands-on experiences are in sparking a love for learning.”

The event was a fantastic success, providing families with an opportunity to learn, connect, and have fun together. Virtual Academy continues to find creative ways to bring students and families together, reinforcing that even in a virtual school, there are plenty of opportunities for in-person engagement and community building.

The Virtual Academy of Fairfield-Suisun offers an online learning option for students from kindergarten through eighth grade. This high-quality educational choice allows Fairfield-Suisun families the flexibility of virtual learning, where students are empowered to take ownership of their education, achieve academic standards, and pursue personal goals.
