Fairfield-Suisun Adult School

Mary Hughes is a marvel of a teacher. The Fairfield Suisun Adult School has aptly recognized Ms. Hughes as our 2023-24 Teacher of the Year. Mary joined the adult school in 2019 working in the Adult Secondary Education(ASE) department as an English teacher. During her tenure, her role has greatly expanded. Mary attended UC Berkeley and earned a TESOL certification to further her teaching skills. Currently, she teaches both in the ASE as well as the English as a Second Language( ELA) departments. She teaches basic computer skills to ESL students. She has taught Citizenship to students wanting to become citizens of the US. She is part of the marketing team and as such, heads the Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter feeds for the adult school. Mary can certainly join a Marvel team but we are so privileged to have her in this human realm as one of our teachers. Congratulations Mary, so well deserved!
