Congratulations, Kelly Farnworth! Kelly is our newest GED graduate. Here is what Kelly has to say:
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now.
I had all but given up in school before I'd even reached middle school due to an immense amount of childhood trauma. By middle school I was treated as a lost cause. I was even told that I would never amount to anything. I dropped out after 8th grade.
Fast forward to 2024 I’m a 36 year old single mother that needs to set an example for her 11 year old son and open up better job opportunities. I HAD to go back to school.
I was nervous at the beginning but my GED teacher Tammy Collin's warm and friendly demeanor set me right at ease. Her authentic encouragement and belief in my ability to pass set me off like a rocket. I started January 8th and finished March 11th. I feel like this is my first real accomplishment and I’m proud of myself.
I am extremely grateful for Tammy and the rest of the staff at Fairfield-Suisun Adult School. They all are very friendly and encouraging which makes a very welcoming environment. I don't think I could have passed if the environment hadn’t been what it is. Thank you, Tammy, Scott, and all those smiling faces. I did it, I passed!
Way to go, Kelly!
