Fairfield, CA - Grange Middle School is proud to announce the launch of an exciting new Art Program for the 2024 school year. This dynamic program offers students a unique opportunity to explore a wide range of artistic mediums while tapping into their personal and cultural experiences to create meaningful works of art.
Led by Art Teacher Jeannine La Bate, the program invites students to engage in hands-on activities such as drawing, painting, sewing, sculpture, printmaking and photography. This creative approach helps students learn, play, and express themselves while gaining a deeper understanding of how art intersects with society and culture.
“Grange Middle School has launched something big, a new Art Program!” shared Jeannine La Bate. “This year, students can expect to play and learn through drawing, painting, sewing, sculpture, printmaking and photography. Students will use personal and cultural experiences as subject matter to make works of art to be displayed in the art room and school exhibitions for everyone to admire. Students have already begun creating a collaborative project inspired by the power of their hands and expressive lines. When students aren't working hands-on, they will be analyzing art and reflecting on ways society or culture influences the arts and vice versa.”
The new Art Program encourages students to think creatively, collaborate on projects, and express their individuality through various artistic forms. The curriculum will also feature art exhibitions, allowing students to showcase their work to the school community.
Grange Middle School is thrilled to offer this new opportunity for students to dive deeper into the world of art and looks forward to witnessing the growth of creative expression throughout the year.
