Fairfield, CA - In honor of Black History Month, Rodriguez High School and Early College High School students and staff have organized a Black History Wall of Fame. The Wall of Fame is a collection of biographical posters created by students and clubs at Rodriguez High School and Early College High School to celebrate and honor the achievements and contributions of famous Black people in history.
As part of the project, all students and clubs at Rodriguez High were invited to conduct research and use their creativity to put together a poster about a famous Black person in history. The posters were created in December and January, and will be displayed throughout the month of February in the library, serving as a source of inspiration and learning for students.
In an effort to enhance the educational experience, fifty-six classes from Rodriguez High have signed up to "Walk the Wall" and learn about the important individuals on the posters. This unique initiative provides students an opportunity to learn about the lives and accomplishments of Black leaders, inventors, artists, and more, and to gain a deeper understanding of the impact that Black people have had on the world.
"We are thrilled to be launching the Black History Wall of Fame in celebration of Black History Month," said Rodriguez High Principal Kristen Cherry. "It's important that we honor and recognize the contributions of Black people in history and the impact they have had on our society. The posters created by our students are an excellent demonstration of their hard work, creativity, and passion for learning."
