The Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD) celebrated another successful year of its annual district-wide college fair. Held at Rodriguez High School on October 24, 2023, this event welcomed students from grades 6 through 12 and their families, providing them with a valuable opportunity to explore the world in of higher education.
The FSUSD College Fair at Rodriguez High School was a remarkable event that allowed students and their families to gain valuable insights into the offerings of various college campuses and receive guidance on the college application process.
Attendees had the opportunity to engage with representatives from over 45 colleges and universities, gaining an inside perspective into each institution's unique features and programs. The fair also offered an informative workshop session on financial aid, hosted by Solano Community College, helping students and their families navigate the complexities of funding their higher education. These sessions provided vital information on scholarships, grants, and other financial assistance options, making college education more accessible.
Aspiring student-athletes benefited from a dedicated session on the Next College Student Athlete (NCSA) Program, which provided insights into scholarships, recruiting processes, and the steps needed to become successful college athletes.
The event was a resounding success, with over 300 students and their families in attendance, eager to take their first steps toward higher education and a brighter future.
Julia Vallejo, FSUSD College and Career Technician, who was instrumental in the planning of the event, expressed her delight at the turnout and the impact of the event: "We are thrilled by the enthusiastic response from students and their families. This event allowed us to inspire and guide our students on their journey toward higher education.”
FSUSD extends its gratitude to all participating colleges and universities, as well as the dedicated staff members who made this event possible.
