Fairfield, CA - The Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District was joined by Mayor Harry Price and City Manager David Gassaway to commemorate the completion of the Sullivan Language Immersion Academy with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2195 Union Avenue. The dedication took place on Friday, August 12, 2022.
The project was intended to relocate and expand the Dual Immersion program that was previously housed at B.Gale Wilson Middle School. Work began on Phase One in September 2021 and Phase Two work began in March 2022. Construction costs for both phases were approximately $7.9M. Phase One included the new parking lot and library remodel. PhaseTwo included the modernization of 18 classrooms and staff support spaces, reconfiguration of the main office for a secured entrance, two new playgrounds and a shade structure, a new restroom building, and painting the entire exterior and interior of the campus.
"Our Dual Immersion Program will continue to provide students with quality instruction as it has for over a decade in our district," Principal Ashley Kelley shared at the ceremony. Kelley continued, "Now as its own site, it will have the space it needs to grow and flourish."
The project was funded through Measure J and was completed in partnership with SKW Architects. Phase One was constructed by F&H Construction and Phase Two was completed by DL Falk Construction.
